Hey yall- I was wondering if a crafty person on here had any advice regarding shrinky dinks?

I made some the other day (my second attempt!) And while they came out great color-wise, they also game out a bit dingy in the white areas?

It looks like fingerprints almost. I was wondering of there's a particular way I should go about handling the paper while drawing my designs, like should I clean it or something? At least to not have the smudges.
